We'll also have fun add-in ideas and healthy options, which include wheat germ and no butter. The original recipe called for shaking the batter in a jar, which I believe may have led to overworked batter and ultimately rubbery, rather than fluffy, pancakes. The new recipe below has you whisk everything in one bowl instead — you still only have one dish to wash, and it will prevent you from overworking the batter. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Pancake Recipe step by step
- First separate the egg whites from the yolk in 2 different bowls.
- Add 2 tbsp of all purpose flour and 1 tablespoon of milk to the egg yolk mix well and add 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence and continue mixing until you get a consistent batter.
- In 2nd bowl of egg white, add a teaspoon of lemon juice. Stir well. Beat the mixture until its foamy..
- Now add 3 tablespoons of powder sugar and beat the mixture until you get nice fluffy batter. this is a very important step. If you see that the better is runny you could add more powder sugar to it.
- Take one third of this batter and mix it to the yolk.
- And then add remaining of it and mix well gently..
- Now take a pan and heat it on a medium flame. Grease it with some butter. Next time I'm not going use butter or anything. Add one scoop of the batter. Pour a teaspoon of water in the pan and close the lid. Let it cook for 2 minutes on a very slow flame..
- After 2 minutes add another scoop of batter. Pour some water on the sides and close the lid. Let it cook for 3 or 4 minutes..
- Now flip the pancake. Again add teaspoon of water at the sides. Close the lid and let the other side of the pancake cook for another 3 or 4 minutes.
- Serve hot with chunks of salted butter :).
Make a well in the center, and pour in milk, egg and oil. In large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add milk, butter and, egg; stir until flour is moistened. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Heat a heavy griddle or fry pan which is greased with a little butter on a paper towel.
